(sm) Program and Network Integrity (PNI) is responsible for anti-fraud, waste, abuse and error (FWAE) services provided to our membership. This specialized team consists of a variety of individuals with roles and responsibilities to detect investigate and prevent FWAE from occurring. PNI encompasses Special Investigations Unit (SIU) activities as well as expanded efforts to improve the system and function of the organization. Job Scope and Guidelines: Designing, developing, testing and maintaining databases and, applications and reports Works closely with others on tasks and projects Maintains various data connections and queries to support business needs Core hours are 8 AM-5 PM Central Time Primary Responsibilities: Design, Conduct, Support Research & Development Partners with internal and external teams to complete tasks and projects Works independently and collaboratively on projects to meet timelines and deliverables Provides guidance and support to others as it relates to PNI data subject matter Demonstrates understanding of reporting databases and software packages Receives relevant data information from internal and external sources for analysis and data analytical needs Analyze and Interpret Data Demonstrates proficient understanding and use of software packages (SQL, MS SSRS, MS SSIS .NET, Tableau, Visual Studio, Excel) Collaborates with internal and/or external stakeholders to design or redesign requirements as needed Interprets data and reports, summarizes and presents findings / recommendations to Leadership and/or Customers as necessary Communicates impact of metrics and provides appropriate support to operations on resolution, including claims financial detail Experience with continuous integration methodology Identifies and Develops Business Tools for Improved Performance Understanding of agile development methodologies Collaborates with team in software as a service (SAS) development environment Analyzes data to determine appropriate next steps Identifies process improvements and user tools to improve performance and production Creates innovative solutions to problems through technology and web design Provides ongoing support for applications, reporting and analytics Maintains industry expertise and proposes enhancements to technology and tools within department Identify, Create and Implement Process and Reporting Improvements and Efficiencies Understanding existing queries for data Working with team to satisfy new data needs as they arise Work closely with internal and external teams to develop target queries to detect potential FWAE across broad spectrum of behavioral health data sets Act as a resource to identify schemes within data sets and identify claims configuration / set up issues utilizing data analytics Act as a subject matter expert for data platforms / connections Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 4+ years of experience with each: SQL, MS SSRS, and MS SSIS 2+ years of experience with .NET, Visual Studio Proficient with MS Office including: Access, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint 4+ years of experience in developing analytical tools and models, programming database queries, conducting data analysis, and creating reports Preferred Qualifications: Tableau experience Experience with Oracle, Sybase databases Health care data / information Understanding of statistics to include sampling and extrapolation methodologies and use in investigations and leveraging for negotiations and resolutions Careers with Optum.
