Financial Operations Manager

We are seeking a Financial Operations Manager to create and maintain a cadre of talent to provide timely and accurate corporate financial analysis, monitoring, and reporting on both a recurring and ad hoc basis. This reporting function includes producing recurring Labs-level reports, e.g., the Institutional Cost Report, Budget Officer Metrics, National Science Foundation R&D Survey, work authorization metrics, and various Sandia internal and external publications, as well as partnering with SMEs in other organizations to respond to strategic ad hoc needs that arise.


+ Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field from an accredited university plus 8 or more years of experience.
+ Three years of experience successfully managing a department of professional staff or five years experience as a team leader.
+ Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and complete multiple and concurrent programs and projects.


+ Demonstrated understanding of complex interrelationships between systems.
+ The ability to provide simple, concise explanations to complex questions.
+ Knowledge of Sandia's organizational structure, business environment, policies and procedures, and systems.
+ Demonstrated ability to influence beyond positional authority.

Department Description:

The Budget and Program Support organization is responsible for facilitating Sandia's budget management and execution; establishing and managing corporate overhead rates; optimizing the sizing of indirect services; defining and executing processes that enable the transaction of business with external customers other than DOE and NNSA; and providing timely and accurate financial analysis and reporting.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) granted Q-level security clearance.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug testing, and a pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
