Purpose of Position:

The purpose of the position is to direct and manage corrective action at petroleum storage tank release sites in accordance with the Petroleum Storage Tank Regulations. The purpose includes evaluating proposed costs, that may be eligible for reimbursement from the Corrective Action Fund, to ensure that they are reasonable, appropriate, and cost effective.




This position is a Pay Band 70.



Classification Description



Geoscientists, Xcpt Hydrologist & Geogrphr Operational



Minimum Qualifications




Bachelor's of Science in Geology, Geochemistry, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Chemistry or Environmental Science and two (2) years of experience in water quality regulatory programs, ground water investigations and remediation and/or hazardous waste management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.



Employment Requirements:

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License, possess OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER training or to be completed within one year of hire.

Working Conditions:

A majority of time will be spent in an office setting with extended hours of sitting and working on a computer. As much as 30% of time may be in a field setting conducting corrective action site audits.
