Purpose of Position:

This position will monitor and investigate licensed non-profit producers, approved manufacturers, approved laboratories and approved couriers for statutory and regulatory compliance of the Lynn and Erin Compassionate Use Act. Incumbent will work both independently and with other colleagues from the Licensing and Compliance section of the Medical Cannabis Program. Incumbent must have the ability to lead complaint investigations utilizing social media, conducting field investigations and interviews, and by reviewing licensure and financial documents, and software data. The position will be responsible for writing reports to include, but not limited to Notices of Contemplated Action when statutory and regulatory violations are identified. Must be able to testify in administrative hearings. Incumbent must be available to travel and work some evening and weekend shifts as assigned.

This position is a Pay Band 65.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Criminology or other related field, with two (2) years of experience in accounting, auditing and investigation, or insurance adjusting and investigating or investigative report writing. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements:

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Position requires successful completion of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Pre-employment nationwide criminal background check is required and employment is conditional pending results

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. In-state and out-of-state travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
