Operations Architect (Experienced)

We are seeking a Operations Architect.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Respond to daily requests for support from customers and maintenance regarding building interior and exterior systems and subsystems.
+ Develop and provide technical system requirements for both design and operation of architectural systems at a building-specific level.
+ Assess capabilities and condition of existing building envelope, equipment, systems, and site infrastructure through the Condition Assessment process, including preparing unfunded needs requests (UFNs) and Maintenance requests. Provide input to Design Manual, specifications, standards regarding architectural items, conference rooms, signage, roofing, furniture, lighting and site planning guidelines.
+ Consult with A/E partners regarding Architectural designs for Projects, Campus and Site Planning.
+ Provide technical expertise and direction to the project lead for questions regarding systems impacted by projects and maintenance activities.
+ Conduct observations of work during construction to monitor compliance with specifications.
+ Design, or oversee design, for sustainability, architectural building and landscaping accessibility issues, systems that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations; complies with code and contractual requirements; and incorporates performance-based design and customer requirements.

+ Bachelor's degree in Architecture plus eight (8) or more years' relevant experience; or Master's degree in Architecture plus five (5) or more years' relevant experience.
+ Experience of non-residential Facilities design.
+ Architectural License or ability to obtain an architectural license.


+ NCARB Licensed Architect.
+ Relevant experience with standard building systems both design and construction.
+ Must have good communications skills and a history of working in a team environment.
+ Working knowledge and understanding in Facilities engineering, design and construction.
+ Working knowledge of Facilities design and construction industry best practices and standards.
+ Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple high rigor tasks in a high-pressure environment.
+ Ability to develop and nurture effective internal customer relationships.
+ Ability to successfully plan, organize, lead, and monitor team efforts to completion.
+ Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to articulate the vision to key stakeholders.
+ Experience with NNSA, DOE or other federal government requirements.
+ Able to conduct research and investigate alternative solutions.
+ Active DOE/DOD security clearance.

Provides construction services for line customers and engineering for Facilities Management & Operations Center.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE)-granted L-level security clearance.
