R&D Electronic Circuit Design Engineer-Data Acquisition (Early/M

The Application Technologies Department is seeking an R&D Electronics Engineer with circuit design experience to join our team to develop electronics for new data acquisition systems. Specific responsibilities will include board-level circuit designs, analysis, system integration and qualification of this hardware. The successful candidate should have experience in digital and/or analog circuitry design, electronics testing/debugging, design to withstand harsh environments, embedded hardware and software systems, and environmental testing. Interested candidates should be self-motivated and able to work well as a part of a multidisciplinary project team to achieve project goals. Highly capable and creative engineers with motivation to contribute to impact on our national security mission are encouraged to apply.


+ Bachelor's degree **and** Master's degree in EE/CE; or a Bachelor's degree in EE/CE plus 4 years of relevant experience.
+ Experience developing board-level electronic circuit designs.
+ Experience with standard EE/CE lab equipment, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and Protocol Analyzers.
+ Current Q clearance and ability to satisfy SCI access and polygragh requirements.


+ Experience designing very low power embedded systems.
+ Experience with PIC processors as we use these in our systems.
+ Experience with FPGA/VHDL/Verilog.
+ Familiarity with radiation sensing, imaging or other sensing technologies is highly attractive.

The Threat Intelligence Center enables the national security missions of the defense and intelligence communities to reduce threats to our nation by applying engineering expertise to develop solutions to some of the nation's most challenging technical problems. Application Technologies Department (5879) develops, tests and supports the operation of unattended, high reliability data acquisition systems. Our department consists of a high-performing multidisciplinary project team tasked with working in close partnership with the SIPP sponsor to develop these unique, high impact systems. Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) granted Q-level security clearance to start.
